2008 Sales

At the Dungannon premier sale, we purchased Carnew im a gud one. he has covered all repeats and any ewes that we did not A.I.

At the Dungannon second sale we sold 3 lambs, it was a great trade all round with plenty of buyers and not enough sheep. We sold 3 lambs, at 400 gns and 280 gns respectivley were 2 full brothers out of castellau favourite. Are other lamb was out of Rutland Humdinger, he had a tremendoulsy strong white head with good bone, he made 320 gns.

At the Ballymena sale we sold 3 lambs with a lamb and a shearling returning home that will be used over are 200 commercial ewe flock. Trade all round was poor with most lambs in the 200- 250 gns region.

At the Dungannon female we purchased 3 in lamb shearling ewes, two of David Mawhinney both out of Wraycastle Gladstone and in lamb to Rockvilla Golden Promise and Wen Fawr Godzilla respectivley. We also purchased a very smart in lamb shearling ewe from Drew Cowan in lamb to his french ram.

Two ewe lambs were also purchased, one of Ian Craig and one of George Booth with the latter being a tremendous showy lamb out of a massive Trinty Leigh ewe.

2008 Shows

The First show we attended was Balmoral show. We were placed 5th with our senior stock tup Riverdale Govenor and 5th with our shearling ewe recieving very good comments. Our shearling ewe was purchased from Sharon and Norman McMordie as a ewe lamb. She is the same way bred as our stock ram sired by Foulrice Firebrand and out of a Dynamite mother.

Our next show was Lurgan show were we were placed with both are animals. We got 3rd in the shearling class with the same shearling as Balmoral and 3rd in tha ewe lamb class. The ewe lamb is by Castelau Favourite and out of a Castelau Ultra mother. Her mothers grand dam is the famous Rutland Leveche who is also the grand dam of Rockvilla Golden Promise.

At Armagh show we showed the same 2 sheep as in lurgan and were placed 3rd in each class once again.

In our last show of the year saintfield show we took out a team of 4 comprising of the ewe lamb, our shearling ewe from the previous shows and another shearling ewe purchased from the Riverdale flock of Sharon and Norman McMordie, and our senior stock ram Riverdale Govenor. We had a sucessfull day picking up 4 second places including the group of three.

2006 Shows

We showed a ewe lamb ally year being 3rd at lurgan, Armagh and then going on to be first at saintfield show.

 

She is sired by Tullyear egbert the highly succesfull stock ram for Drew Cowan, he was first prize lamb balmoral show 2004, first prize ram lamb in the N.I. flock competition 2004 and male of the year 2006. Another full sister has been retained and a full brother has been retained for the commercial flock.
