Our main aim when we first decided to start a flock was to have around 40 high quality ewes which display the traits nessecary for breeding good sheep commercial or pedigree. They should have deep full gigots, a wide loin, plenty of length, be correct in mouth, feet and legs and have that spark factor or style. The current flock is mainly bought in but we have a few good shearlings to introduce to the flock next year. We have a strict culling policy maintaining only the best. The ram that all are females and rams seem to be bred around is Westonvale Jubilee. Jubilee was a tremendous ram and never seems to breed a bad one. His breeing is in all of are sheep purchased from Norman McMordie and also from a ewe lamb purchased from Ian Goudy. Sires of our females include: Knighton Grand Prix- This ram bred by Percy Tait and owned by Drew Cowan was 1st prize at the Royal show as a lamb. He has sired some tremendous sheep. Foulrice Dynamite- He is by Jubilee and has an index of 371, he had a tremendous end. Typical examples of our ewes. The far ewe is by Foulrice Dynamite and the closest is by Castelau Ultra Tullyear Egbert-He was first prize lamb balmoral show 2004, first prize ram lamb in the N.I. flock competition 2004 and male of the year 2006.
Foulrice Firebrand- He had an index of 318, and is by Cairnhill Cavalier goin back to Jubilee once again. A tremendous ram. Sire of our senior stock ram Riverdale Govenor. Castelau Favourtie- He is a very stylish ram with a great body being very correct. He has bred our show ewe lamb this year. Castelau ultra- A great ram with a tight skin and great end. Sire of tremendous males and females. A great ewe being very stylish with a great end and very correct. She is by Castlau ultra and is the mother of our show ewe lamb.
